UVC LIGHT
A germicidal lamp is an electric light that produces ultraviolet UVC light.
This short-wave ultraviolet light disrupts DNA base pairing, causing formation of pyrimidine dimmers which leads to the inactivation of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. It can also be used to produce ozone for water disinfection. UVC light kills virus and bacteria on surfaces such as cardboard boxes, plastic containers, countertops, tabletops, doorknobs, toys, computer screens and keyboards.

UVC uses the shortest wavelength of UV radiation which is 254 nanometers. The light penetrates and destroys the DNA of living cells, inactivating the organism. The UVC light leaves viruses and bacteria inactive by attacking their DNA.
